Mobile phone operators

In Poland, you can have a “subscription” or “pay as you go” telephone.

  • A “pay as you go” is a solution beneficial for those who cannot or do not want to be bound by a contract with an operator. To take advantage of the prepaid offer, you need to buy a starter kit (available in supermarkets, newsagents or petrol stations), and then activate it. The card should be topped up at least in the periods indicated by the operator or more frequently, when the available funds are used.

  • The advantage of a “subscription” phone is that, provided that you pay for the subscription, you will not run out of funds to make a call, as can be the case with a prepaid phone. The disadvantage, however, is the need to sign a contract for a longer period (usually 12 months at least) and the need of paying the bill monthly.

Major mobile phone operators in Poland include: Orange, Play, Plus and T-Mobile.
