Moving with family

Moving to a new country with your family is a complex proces.

You should remember about some crucial formalities and documents to be prepared before your arrival and during your stay.

Documents

Remember to take with you documents proving your family ties such as legalized marriage certificate or child’s birth certificate.

Insurance

All family members must be insured during stay in Poland. Employees are covered by mandatory NFZ (Polish National Health Fund) insurance, which extends to registered family members. Many families opt for additional private insurance packages (not mandatory) for faster access to specialists, dental care, or maternity care.

Schooling

The education system in Poland is compulsory from ages 7 to 18, consisting of 8 years of primary school (szkoła podstawowa) followed by 4-5 years of secondary education. Public education is free, with a mandatory exam at the end of primary school and a “Matura” exam for university entrance. Higher education follows the Bologna process.
